I am here and you are there - wishes for Thanksgiving

Today is Saturday the 8th of October, the Saturday of the Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada. It is odd - for this weekend I am away from and still with family; as I am sure most of you might be.  I will be able to be with my parents this weekend; which will be lovely.  I believe the last time I had Thanksgiving dinner with my parents was before I was married - so about 26 years ago.  Wow!

My boyfriend aka hubby is working back in Alberta, our youngest daughter is going to cook her first dinner for her love and his family; and our eldest is I am sure sharing the essence of thanksgiving with her new friends in Belize.

I am thankful this year for so many things, my improved health springs to mind immediately!  My body pain has diminished - thanks to a lot of things I am doing, eating well (modified anti-inflammation diet), I am writing, walking, reading and moving....all great stuff -- I am also receiving regular acupuncture treatments.  I am thankful for all the information and healing tools which are available, this has been a long time in the works and I feel better every day - the full Advil bottle will attest to this.

I am thankful for all my great friends and the am grateful for having had the opportunity to visit with a few of them this year on our wonderful journey across the country.

I feel truly blessed as I sit here at our cabin surrounded by the wilderness of Newfoundland, and as I am here and you are there - I wish you and your family the best of this time.

Please know that as you read this you have touched my life in a profound way, it is no accident we are connected ~ I am glad to have you in my life. Thank YOU.

Thanksgiving 2011; this is a great time to start a gratitude journal, or wall! When our girls were younger, we had a large piece of bristol board on our wall - and we would write down all were grateful for -- it was wonderful and fun.

As you spend time expressing gratitude today and this weekend (and always from this point forward) remember this -- a great quote from my favourite author, Alan Cohen.

Gratitude, like faith, is a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it grows, and the more power you have to use it on your behalf. If you do not practice gratefulness, its benefaction will go unnoticed, and your capacity to draw on its gifts will be diminished. To be grateful is to find blessings in everything, This is the most powerful attitude to adopt, for there are blessings in everything.

Love Peace & Happiness to YOU!
